Liquid Facelifts in New Orleans

Non-Surgical Solutions for Natural Facial Rejuvenation

Many patients seeking facial rejuvenation choose a surgical procedure like a neck lift/facelift, blepharoplasty, or brow lift. While surgery may be the best option for these patients, it is not the only one available. There are several non-surgical treatments that provide natural-looking results for patients not interested in undergoing surgery or for those who have health issues and are not surgical candidates.

A liquid facelift is a combination of multiple non-surgical techniques designed to add facial volume, subtly lift facial tissue, and reduce lines, wrinkles, and folds. For more information on non-surgical facelifts, call us at (504) 533-8848 or contact us online to schedule a consultation.

Liquid Facelift Defined

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment option for patients who want to improve their facial appearance without surgery. These treatments rely on the use of various injectables like Botox®, Dysport®, Restylane®, Juvederm®, or RHA to rejuvenate facial contours, fill in hollows, and diminish facial wrinkles and fine lines.

At the New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery, board-certified facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Parker Velargo and Dr. Celeste Gary, or board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Hendrick, can customize liquid facelifts to resolve the specific facial issues for each of their patients.

These issues may include:

  • Weak Chin
  • Forehead creases
  • Low cheekbones
  • Droopy eyebrows
  • Platysma bands
  • Crow’s feet
  • Hollow temples
  • Thin lips
  • Under eye bags
  • Under eye hollows
  • Marionette lines (smile lines)
  • Jowls
  • Volume loss
  • Poorly defined jawline
  • Expression lines

Drs. Velargo, Hendrick, and Gary have at their disposal an arsenal of injectables, including neuromodulators for dynamic wrinkles and dermal fillers for static wrinkles and volume loss. With these injectables they can resolve your specific facial concerns. These injectables include:

  • Botox
  • Dysport
  • Juvederm
  • Sculptra
  • Restylane
  • Kybella
  • RHA
  • Versa

Understanding The "Lift" in a Non-Surgical Facelift

As we get older, we begin to lose facial volume because of underlying tissue loss. As this tissue diminishes, the facial skin starts to sag and droop. When facial volume is restored, the sagging skin is gently stretched and lifted.

Adding volume to the cheeks and redefining the jawline helps elevate sagging skin in these areas. This technique effectively replenishes volume, resulting in a natural, rejuvenated facial lift. The most common statement we hear after this procedure is, “This is what I used to look like.”

Why Botox or Dysport?

These neuromodulators relax facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles from facial expressions. Muscle movements involved in smiling and laughing can create lines and wrinkles in areas around the eyes, brow, and forehead.

Botox and Dysport reduce this muscle activity, allowing these signs of aging to soften over time. These injectables can also lift the eyebrows and corners of the mouth, and help define the neck area.

Why Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers do exactly what their name suggests: they fill in hollows and creases. They add volume to facial areas, specifically in the midface, around the mouth, cheeks, and under the eyes. When lost volume is replenished, hollow cheeks and tear troughs are filled, restoring a youthful, plump, and taut skin appearance.

The Liquid Facelift Procedure

After a consultation, patients can address their facial imperfections with a strategic plan using specific injectables. Our customized treatment plans often incorporate a single injectable in one or more areas, or multiple injectables in several areas, to provide the best results.

The procedure can be as quick as thirty minutes or may last up to an hour, depending on the areas being treated. Dr. Velargo, Dr. Hendrick, and Dr. Gary use a micro-cannula, fine-gauge needles, or a combination of both for injections. In addition, we offer laughing gas to ensure minimal discomfort. These techniques result in less bruising and swelling and are generally more comfortable for patients. Proximal downtime is minimal, and you will see the results quickly.

How long do the results last?

Results vary from patient to patient and from injectable to injectable. Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers like Restylane can last well over twelve months. Botox® and Dysport® results usually last three to four months. During your consultation, you will receive instructions on the best timing for follow-up treatments.

Major side effects are rare after a liquid facelift, but there is a possibility of swelling, redness, and bruising for a few days after treatment.

This non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure offers no downtime for our patients. Many patients return to their normal routine right after leaving the office.

Healthy men and women who wish to fight the effects of aging—such as facial lines, wrinkles, and folds—and restore their youthful facial appearance are great candidates for a liquid facelift.
