Drs. Velargo and Hendrick have experience with numerous skincare lines, but none have produced the results seen with the FaceMD™ line. Dr. Velargo previously worked closely with the developer of the FaceMD™ line, which is a medical-grade skincare program based on over 25 years of experience and research. FaceMD™ is a well-tolerated regimen that is formulated with the purest blend of organic ingredients and is effective on all skin types. Drs. Velargo and Hendrick will customize a treatment plan for you and provide you with simple, easy-to-follow instructions.

What Separates FaceMD From Other Medical Grade Product Lines?

What Adjunctive Skin Care Prodcuts And Treatments Do Drs.Velargo And Hendrick Recommend?
Drs. Velargo and Hendrick may prescribe tretinoin (e.g. Retin-A) or hydroquinone to help achieve the desired results. Additionally, certain chemical peels may be recommended to augment your skin treatment. In any case, they monitor your results and response to the products closely. The FaceMD™ line is our maintenance program of choice to keep your skin looking its best, and it is a great way to complement and retain the results obtained from other surgical and non-surgical procedures.
Tretinoin (e.g. Retin-A) is a prescription product derived from Vitamin A that sheds the outer layers of skin and stimulates collagen growth in the deeper skin layers. It comes in varying strengths. When Dr. Velargo or Dr. Hendrick prescribes this medication they will monitor your response and develop a treatment regimen to ensure that your skin does not become overwhelmed with the product. You can, however, expect some pinkness and flaking in the first weeks of use.
Hydroquinone is a prescription skin lightener that comes in different strengths. This is the product that helps correct pigment irregularities.
In addition to FaceMD™, the New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery carries several other carefully selected skin care products to complement the FaceMD™ product line.
When an excellent skin care product line, such as FaceMD™, is combined with a series of superficial to medium depth chemical peels (e.g. TCA peels) performed by Dr. Velargo or Dr. Hendrick, the results can be amazing. Not all patients are candidates for peels, but your unique treatment plan will be discussed upon your expert skin care consultation with Dr. Velargo or Dr. Hendrick.
