Renuva in New Orleans

Renuva® restores volume in the face, hands, and body through a quick, convenient in-office procedure.

When you think about the various signs of aging, wrinkles and fine lines are probably the first things that come to mind. However, other facial and body changes can also make you look older.

Youthful skin is plump, full, and smooth due to abundant supplies of collagen and elastin. Unfortunately, with age, your natural fat pads begin to diminish—especially in your face, hands, and certain areas of the body.

Dermal fillers like Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, and Restylane® replace lost volume with naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. However, your body will eventually metabolize these products. The good news is that there’s a longer-lasting, non-surgical solution to volume loss. The New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery is pleased to offer Renuva®, a modern and effective treatment alternative for this cosmetic concern.

What Is Renuva? How Does It Work?

Renuva® is an innovative, non-surgical aesthetic treatment that addresses age-related fat loss by restoring lost volume in the face, body, and hands. This injectable is made from an allograft adipose matrix derived from purified donated fat tissue. Because it contains the same proteins and components as natural fat, your body accepts it without triggering an allergic reaction.

Volume loss is a natural part of aging, and Renuva helps you regain a more youthful appearance and glow—without dramatically altering your facial or body features. You’ll still look like yourself, just more refreshed.

Once injected, Renuva forms a matrix in the targeted areas, which your body gradually fills with its own fat. Within three to six months, this matrix is fully replaced by your body’s natural tissue.

Renuva vs. Autologous Fat Transfers

A significant difference between Renuva® injections and autologous fat transfers is that, while Renuva works with your body’s fat tissue, it does not contain actual fat cells. In contrast, an autologous fat transfer involves removing fat from a donor site and reintroducing it into the target area.

Fat transfer procedures can provide more dramatic results; however, they are considered minor surgical procedures and require small incisions to extract the fat.

Renuva Injection Benefits

The Renuva treatment is increasingly popular among our patients due to these advantages.

  • Minimally invasive: We’ll inject Renuva directly into the target areas. No incisions, anesthesia, or sutures needed!
  • Long-lasting results: Unlike dermal fillers, Renuva outcomes can last up to a decade.
  • Natural-looking: Renuva injections are perfect for patients who want subtle transformations for natural facial features and body outlines.
  • No downtime: You can resume daily activities immediately after treatment.
  • Satisfied patients: Our patients say they love their results.
  • Convenient: Renuva is less invasive and more affordable than fat transfers.

Renuva Target Areas

Renuva® can serve multiple purposes and simultaneously address several age-related concerns. These injections help improve hollowed areas at the temples or under the eyes, minimize nasolabial folds, and recontour the cheeks and backs of the hands. In addition, Renuva can smooth skin irregularities such as cellulite and fill depressions typically left after surgery.

What Happens During Renuva Treatment?

Renuva® requires an injection appointment and may need a touch-up a few months later. Plan to spend about an hour in our office, depending on how many areas are being treated. We use a tiny, blunt needle called a cannula to inject the Renuva, after which you can return to your daily routine.

You will see the full effects of the treatment after about three months. At that time, you can schedule a follow-up appointment to evaluate the results and determine whether a touch-up injection is needed.

Replace Lost Volume in an Hour or Less

Renuva® offers multiple benefits for suitable candidates. For example, if you are seeking a treatment that delivers a balanced facial appearance or younger-looking hands with no downtime, Renuva may be the ideal solution for you.
